The holiday season is back and this means hosting parties and having the family over for dinner — or weekends. Round dining tables are the best solution if your kitchen or living room is quite narrow: they use space more efficiently, the absence of sharp corners makes the whole dining experience more enjoyable and safe — especially for children —, and they can accommodate various seating arrangements.
Not sure where to start? We strongly recommend consulting one of our interior designers but, in the meantime, we got you covered with a list of the most loved styles and three small tips to get the best out of the round dining table.
Traditional
Are you fond of the peaceful countryside or do you prefer living in a modern apartment in the bustling city centre? In either context, a classic-style dining table brings a touch of timeless elegance. A dark rich espresso table could be paired with a creamy set of upholstered dining chairs. If you prefer a lighter colour palette, consider looking at oak round dining tables, as they can add a charming touch to your room.

Rustic
If you are looking for a design that includes earthy tones and natural elements like stone, slate or wrought iron, the rustic dining table is an excellent choice. It comes in various types of wood such as oak, mango, and walnut. To contrast its natural and unrefined aesthetic, you can pair it with modern chairs, a tone-on-tone rug, and wall prints. This combination will give your dining area a fresh and contemporary look.

Coastal
Dreaming of a house in Cornwall? There’s a way to get that breezy vibe even if you’re living in the Midlands. The trick is choosing a white (or very light) round dining table with a set of dining chairs of the same style. Also adding soft touches of ocean blue, aquamarine, and azure to complete the look will create a serene atmosphere in your home.

Modern
When it comes to creating a modern approach to the round dining table, we suggest opting for sturdy metal and aluminium materials which ensure efficiency and durability. A tip would be to consider tables with criss-crossed legs: this design provides ample space for chairs and people's legs, guaranteeing a comfortable experience.

Exterior Round Dining Table
Are you thinking about renovating your outdoor patio? There are plenty of solutions that are both practical and stylish. Wood delivers a warm and natural look; rattan is lightweight and requires minimal maintenance; and metal is durable and gives the area a contemporary look. Other popular choices are teak and plastic; but, if you prefer something unique, we suggest going for a concrete round dining table: it’s sturdy, weather-resistant and easy to maintain.

Our Top Tips
Choose an Extendable Round Dining Table
Go for an extendable round dining table: you’ll get the most out of it while keeping a stylish design. A table that includes a concealed leaf (the additional piece used to increase the usable surface area) is what you’re looking for if you want to add some extra space for your guests. It is a great option for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Check the Dining Table Height
Most dining tables have a standard height that falls between 28 and 33 inches, which is perfect for comfortable seating. It also makes finding compatible chairs, stools, and benches easier, which usually have sizes ranging from 18 to 23 inches. When shopping for a new dining table set, it's important to ensure that there is approximately 10 inches of space between the seat cushion and the top of the table to ensure your guests can sit comfortably.
Seating Capacity
Of course, this will depend on the size of your room, but you should also keep in mind the number of guests usually seated at your table. Small round dining tables can accommodate up to four guests — the right size for a petite kitchen; and medium tables are usually between 44'' and 54'' in diameter and they’re best for seating up to seven guests. Are you famous for your parties? Well, then you could opt for a large round table so that you’ll be able to host larger gatherings smoothly.
Now It’s Your Turn…
From classic to contemporary designs, a round dining table always prioritises guest comfort. When choosing one, envision the atmosphere you desire and let that guide your choice of style, material, indoor and outdoor versatility, and size.
